Curator: Elena Roseras

The first manifestations of experimental poetry date back to the very origins of poetry. There have been calligrams and figurative poems since the times of ancient Greece, although it was the artistic avant-gardes of the early 20th century that gave visual poetry the definitive impulse by introducing the use of typography and collage, along with a new way of understanding space.

The exhibition offers several publications on experimental poetry and works by different poets such as: Stéphane Mallarmé, Vicente Huidobro, Mathias Goeritz, Julio Campal, José Luis Castillejo, Fernando Millán, Joan Brossa, Guillem Viladot, Francisco Pino, Eduardo Scala, Felipe Boso, Juan Eduardo Cirlot, Juan Larrea, Joxe Anton Artze, Enrique Uribe, Jokin Diez de Fortuny, Gabriel Celaya, Ricardo Ugarte, Ibon Sarasola, José Blanco, Jon Andoni Goikoetxea, Bernardo Atxaga, Julia Otxoa, Juan López de Ael, Angela Serna, Adolfo Vargas, and Amaia Mendizabal, among others.
